For five decades, the Tai Chi Center of Fresno has been a cornerstone of wellness in the valley, sharing the gentle power of this ancient Chinese martial art, Tai Chi, with the community. The Tai Chi Center of Fresno is a nonprofit organization with a deep commitment to educating the public about Tai Chi and all its benefits.
Mission Statement
The Tai Chi Center of Fresno is dedicated to preserving and teaching the art of T’ai Chi Ch’uan, in both theory and practice, for physical well-being and martial skill.
We strive to educate and inspire awareness and appreciation for this ancient Chinese discipline through public demonstrations at fairs, festivals, and community events.
Our goal is to cultivate a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment where students of all backgrounds and ages can experience the profound benefits of T’ai Chi Ch’uan.
What is Tai Chi?
Contrary to what you may have been lead to believe, T’ai Chi Ch’uan is not just for old people.
T’ai Chi Ch’uan a powerful, ancient martial art and exercise practice for people of all ages. It combines synchronized movements governed by a set of principles, creating a calm sense of centeredness with benefits for physical and mental well-being, including improved balance, flexibility, increased focus, core strength, and stress reduction.
T’ai Chi Ch’uan requires no special equipment or knowledge and can be practiced anywhere.
All that is required is just the willingness to learn.
